I am MEAN ;-) Personally I'm not a big fan of adwords. If I sell knives, I don't want my great ad for cut-price knives to be displayed next to an article about knife crime. I think that if you're going to advertise online you need to be really selective. Like, obsessively selective. As a knife-seller, I would prefer to pay more to advertise on a high-ranking recipe blog, or a respected webshop for kitchen appliances. So if someone like me clicked on the recipe blog ad as a thanks to the writer, that's my chance to sell to someone who is already half-way interested in what I have to sell. I think that if you’re going to advertise online you need to be really selective. Like, obsessively selective. As a knife-seller, I would prefer to pay more to advertise on a high-ranking recipe blog, or a respected webshop for kitchen appliances.

So if someone like me clicked on the recipe blog ad as a thanks to the writer, that’s my chance to sell to someone who is already half-way interested in what I have to sell.
